The City of Blacktown Girls' Squadron (previously Blacktown Girl's Squadron) is one of the oldest girls Squadrons in the Australian Air League. The Squadron is based at the L.H. Erwin Memorial Hall, 93 Kildare Rd, Blacktown. Weekly parades nights are held on Thursday evening from 1900hrs to 2100hrs (7:00pm to 9:00pm). Contact Sue Barnes The squadron reopened in 2006 after going into recess in 1997. The City of Blacktown Squadron has been active in the local community for many years and has provided training, leadership and fun to generations of young people. Cadets have benefitted from their experience as members of the Australian Air League and have gone on to be valued members of the community.

The City of Blacktown Squadron is a part of Nancy Bird Wing, which covers Western Sydney and includes Squadrons at Penrith and Camden. The Wing is named after Nancy Bird-Walton, O.B.E (1915-2009) the famous woman aviator. Nancy Bird-Walton was the founder of the Australian Women Pilots' Association, which was the starting block for a proud generation of female pilots, who now fly alongside men in Australia's skies.

The Australian Air League is a national youth organisation that has, as it's prime goal the encouragement of an interest in aviation as a career or as a hobby for the youth of Australia. The organisation is entirely self-funding and is staffed by volunteers who give their time generously to achieve its goals.
